First off, you’ll need to insert the DVD into a computer. But if you place the DVD into your computer it will most likely start to automatically play.
MAC Users:
1. Exit out of the DVD player
2. Double click on the DVD icon on your desktop
3. Inside you will see three to four folders. Open the folder that says: “Facilitator's guide” or “Viewing Guide”. Inside you will find a PDF file. Double-click to open file.
PC Users:
1. Exit out of the DVD player
2. Open My Computer
3. Open the drive that your DVD is in (Usually, the C: Drive)
4. Open the DVD Folder
5. Inside you will see three to four folders (the audio and video files include the coding for the DVD), you should also see a file called “Facilitator's Guide” or “Viewing Guide”, here you will find a copy of the PDF.
Glad you asked. We get many such requests. All Forum media is copyright protected. It is illegal to transfer and broadcast programs on internal networks such as Blackboard without first obtaining a license.
We do charge a fee to distribute the material digitally, even on a closed network. We treat multimedia as any other copyrighted material. (Remember how unlicensed downloading by Napster decimated the music business?) The fees vary from a few hundred dollars on the low end, to several thousand.
To determine the licensing fee please answer the following questions and email them to our vice president for media affairs, Jotham Burrello at Jotham@erpmedia.net. Once we have the answers, he will send you an email with the cost of the license. If you wish to proceed, then he will send you a license agreement to sign and return with payment. We know everyone in education works under tight budgets, especially schools, but all parties are charged a licensing fee to distribute. The money is used to fund our next project.
Note: We also, require a written credit to be distributed with training or course materials. We will provide.
Please answer the following questions:
1. To whom are we licensing the product? School district? Business? University?
2. Number of participants in the class/training that will have access to the material? If a class, how many times is it offered per year?
3. If applicable, what is the title of course or training?
4. What DVDs are you interested in purchasing?
5. What portion/chapters of the DVD will you be using? All of it?
6. Term of the license. We offer 1 to 3 year license periods.
7. Is the network you are using password protected? Who has access?
8. What is the name of the network? For example, "Blackboard".
9. Name of individual and title to list on licensing contract?
10. Who will do the digitizing of the video? (We charge an additional fee.)
